August Donor of the Month

Big Brothers Big Sisters is very proud to recognize CARNM as our featured Donor of the Month for August 2017. CARNM generously donated $7,500 through their annual golf tournament held at Paa-Ko Ridge Golf Club.

We want to thank CARNM for their involvement in our program. It's because of the generosity of sponsors, like CARNM, that we continue to provide youth mentoring to children around the state free of charge.

Special Thank You

Thank you to Allstate volunteer Tracy Idinopulos for being a positive force for change in our community. Tracy Idinopulos gave her time and enabled us to receive an Allstate Foundation Helping Hands in the Community grant. The Allstate Foundation supports the causes that Allstate agency owners, financial specialists and employees care about most by providing Helping Hands in the Community grants to nonprofits where they volunteer their time to bring out the good in their communities.

Internet Essentials with Comcast

Comcast recently announced that Internet Essentials, the nation’s largest high-speed Internet program for low-income families, hit a major milestone in their effort to close the digital divide.

2017 marks six years since the program was launched, and to date the program has connected more than 4 million people, or 1 million households, to broadband Internet at home - most for the very first time. This includes 88,000 low-income New Mexicans in 22,000 households.

Coupled with last year’s nationwide expansion to all households receiving HUD assistance, Comcast estimates that nearly 6 million households are now eligible for Internet Essentials. And as an Internet Essentials partner dedicated to bridging the digital divide, we are extremely excited to be a part of this milestone announcement. Please visit Internet essentials to see if your family qualifies for the program here.
